Bagas Fellyon (Cornish for the Band of Fools) is a recently formed collective of musicians brought together by the fiddle player Neil McMahon.

With a core group of talented and experienced musicians, Bagas Fellyon are able to adapt their lineup to suit any venue or event. Whether you’re looking for a trio to perform or a full 8-piece band to get your venue rocking, look no further!

Cove

Brought forth from the two traditions of Cornish and Irish music, Cove are an instrumental trio comprising Kerensa Wright on hammered dulcimer, Neil McMahon on fiddle and Keith Mountifield on bouzouki, whistle and bodhrán.

Blending tunes from a variety of musical traditions in much the same way that Cornish traditional music evolved with influences of visiting fishermen and traders throughout the centuries. Whether it is a concert performance or music for Nos Lowen dancing you can expect beautiful melodies and some foot-tapping arrangements!

Neil McMahon

A fiery fiddler from the depths of Cornwall. Neil brings Cornish music to life with an unsurpassable flair and mastery. A foot in the past but boldly treading new ground with his innovative style.

Over the past few years Neil has worked with several line-ups including the bands for Cornish dance groups Hevva and Kekezza. However, he is probably best known for his collaboration with music producer Brendan McGreal. Together they formed the Cornish Neo Trad duo that is Fools Rock to experiment with and innovate within the growing Nos Lowen style of Cornish traditional Music.

Kerensa

“Kerensa is an assured & devastatingly skilful Hammered Dulcimer player who delivers a performance that is innovative, energetic & confident.”

And who would expect anything less since she has learnt from the masters! In her early days, she received expert tuition from the late Jim Couza & Maclaine Colston, both considered by many to be the best players of the Hammered Dulcimer of their generations. Kerensa has taken their teachings & has developed her own “unique playing style that captivates audiences wherever she performs.”

Dyski

Dyski Meaning to learn and to teach Dyski began life as an opportunity for three fiddle teachers to expand their own knowledge of Cornish fiddle music.

Dyski are comprised of Francess Bennett, Anna Brown and Neil McMahon who between them have a substantial reservoir of experience in the world of Cornish traditional Music.

Together are delighted to have the chance to share some of what they have learnt with the Klub Nos Lowen’s enthusiastic patrons.

Kernow Dulcimer Collective

Workshops, Performance

Kernow Dulcimer Collective is led by Hammered Dulcimer players Kerensa and Carole Talboys and Appalachian Dulcimer player Grace Biddulph.

Offering regular Hammered and Appalachian Dulcimer workshops in Cornwall and beyond, with a stock of instruments for complete beginners to come and try!

Kerensa, Carole & Grace also perform as a trio and have recently recorded tracks together for Kerensa’s Cornish album ‘Kan Hweg’.
